Purchasing Analyst

We are currently seeking a highly qualified Procurement Analyst, to join the Direct Material Procurement organization in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will ensure that contracting strategies for operations and manufacturing based functions are executed to meet business requirements at the best possible value.

Specific accountabilities include:
  • Assuming responsibility for the supplier management for suppliers of product components or packaging
  • Managing supplier performance and relationships (i.e. on-time, quality, services, systems cost, etc)
  • Responding to customer needs and requirements
  • Assisting in Supplier Qualification process
  • Training internal clients on the use of Procurement systems and Procurement and Financial Policies and Procedures
  • Training clients on responsibilities associated with contract management
  • Developing contract or strategic supply terms/conditions in coordination with Law and Finance
  • Bidding and executing contracts
  • Sourcing and selecting appropriate suppliers
  • Participating in or leading cross –functional business efforts and/or the Procurement Requirements and Approval Policy
  • Supporting projects aimed at re-engineering the business
  • Supporting supplier audits to ensure compliance with Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Performing basic market research and business analysis to determine strategies for achieving optimal business value
  • Managing projects as related to the procurement of goods, materials and/or services where precedents exist
  • Producing business reports, charts and graphs to assist in managing the business
  • Supporting supplier execution of contracts/alliances
  • Supporting development of variable budgets for goods and materials
  • Supporting and participating in managing delivery logistics
  • Coordinating resolution of delivery and payment issues
  • Supervising or training assigned employees up to the level of Associate Purchasing Agent, as required
Qualifications include:
  • A BS/BA in a Business/Technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years as Associate Purchasing Agent or equivalent experience
  • Proven communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to present to Senior Management
  • Proven Procurement skills
  • Ability to perform financial and business analysis
  • Negotiation experience preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • SAP, Accounts Payable, EDI, and other business system experience preferred
