This is a Senior level systems, storage, and virtualization engineering position requiring proven enterprise level experience in large-scale, multi-data center, multi-platform, distributed computing environments. Includes senior level consultation services into the Sutter IS technical governance committee structure across multiple regions for very complex systems implementations and cross-platform integration projects across the enterprise.
The related systems platforms include UNIX � AIX, Linux, Windows Server operating systems, Virtualization-VMWare, OS400, VMS. The related storage platforms include SAN / NAS / Storage systems technologies on large enterprise scale storage systems. The level IV systems engineer provides third-level escalation support for incident management across the enterprise, including 7x24x365 systems availability and optimization studies, incident management and systems performance reviews in support of all standard enterprise systems platforms and technologies. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas: leading technical project reviews and project discovery meetings; initiating and leading cross-team specifications reviews; technical presentations and preparation for large proposals and IS Engineering projects. Leads IS systems engineering projects through collaboration, coordination, and implementation across multiple teams as approved by IS leadership.
Experience in a like size company and enterprise IS environment as typically acquired in 9+ years.
Experience in corporate environments in the following disciplines and not limited to: Enterprise class server systems implementations and technologies; Enterprise storage implementations and technologies; Enterprise virtualization platforms and technologies; and extensive experience with large scale integration projects utilizing and not limited to the following OS platforms: UNIX, IBM-AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Window Server, Virtualization-VMWare, OS400, VMS operating systems, subsystems, and technologies as typically acquired in 9+ years.
Mastery of technical knowledge with experience in multiple disciplines, and former career experience with enterprise operations, systems engineering, and data center implementations.
Proven expertise in the engineering, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of a wide range of server and storage platforms.
Knowledge in Sutter Health approved server operating systems (e.g. UNIX, AIX, Linux, OEL, Windows, OS400, and VMS), MS Active Directory, Windows Clustering, Citrix, Virtualization technologies (i.e: VMWare), and automated systems provisioning technologies.
Knowledge in Sutter Health approved SAN / storage platforms (e.g. Hitachi USP / VSP storage, NetApp, IBM-DS8xxx enterprise storage+, EMC Symmetrix / CLARiiOn) storage platforms and related technologies. .
Associated systems knowledge with enterprise monitoring and inventory management (e.g. BMC ProactiveNet / BPPM, Performance Manager / Atrium, MS Systems Center/SCOM/SCCM, Opsware, HP Openview), and associated performance and capacity management tools and technologies.
Associated systems knowledge with Sutter Health approved databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, Cache) and related systems technologies.
Implementing and administrating TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, print services, and other infrastructure components as required for large-scale systems implementations and projects.
Ability to provide daily, weekly, and monthly systems capacity and performance review and assurance to capacity management for accurate metrics reporting and Operating Systems.
Proven expertise around industry best practice standards in systems operations and engineering.
