*This position resides in Markham, ON and is a 4-month co-op month work term commencing May 2019. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

IBM is seeking an IT Consultant with experience in developing applications for web and mobile platforms. The candidate will be joining the GBS Microsoft Universal Enterprise Application practice to develop cutting edge applications for enterprises - working in one or more of the following focal areas: web development, drones, AR / VR technology and more. Aimed at augmenting IBM’s portfolio of offerings, the Microsoft Universal Enterprise Application practice offers W10 solutions. Using Microsoft .NET, Azure, and Power BI technology IBM is able to offer multi-platform native solutions in iOS, Android and W10. In providing clients with access to end-to-end services and offerings that are tailored to their needs, we are able to deliver a successful transition to the client.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience in web development (.NET and/or C#); Experience with SQL Server, JavaScript, working knowledge of Unity 3D Game Engine or Swift
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills in business settings
  • Able to write functional requirements using use case specifications or user stories
  • Strong UI / UX design skills
  • Well-developed trouble-shooting skills
  • Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Proven ability to complete complex projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to stay current in technologies / best practices and ability to apply that knowledge toward day-to-day activities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Hands-on experience developing AR applications for HoloLens and/or mobile platforms
  • Experience developing 3D interactive games and experiences
