Role Purpose
Senior Programme Managers lead and manage large scale complex global strategic change programmes and business transformations with the business and delivery partners. They act as a role model, leading as one global team, demonstrating active leadership and communication. As a senior leader they need to be able to operate at executive level, across regions and global businesses. Senior Programme Managers are responsible for deploying the Global Change Delivery (GCD) Programme Management framework and other Business Transformation Frameworks within their programme and instilling good programme disciplines within their programme and across Global Change Delivery and the HSBC Group. The role holder has end to end responsibility for all aspects of the programme, including definition, controlling, execution, change management and implementation. They are also responsible for effective handover to the business to support effective benefits realisation. They work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Global Management Services team to ensure alignment of their programme with the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values and Behaviours. Senior Programme Managers will often play a people / team management role within the projects / programmes they work on. They will also have line management responsibility for a group of more junior resources within their resource pool (as related to their job family). Alongside programme delivery responsibilities, the Senior Programme Manager will have responsibility for a pool of Programme Managers, Senior Project Managers and Project Managers (being responsible for people management, performance management, resource management and professional development). However, Senior Programme Managers supporting Head of Global Change Delivery (Business / Function) will not manage any pool of resources. The specific purpose of this role is to establish and deliver (oversee/direct/track and report progress on a number group wide programs that will ensure that HSBC meets its regulatory obligations in respect of a number of key Cyber Security capabilities. This role holder will establish and deliver the Data Protection and the Data Backup & Recovery CSMIP Cybersecurity portfolios, As Portfolio Lead in the CSMIP programme, the role holder will provide direct oversight of the portfolio(s), financial and outcome accountability, reporting to the Head of Cybersecurity Transformation. In executing this role, the Portfolio Lead will need to:
  • build strong relationships with senior stakeholders within IT, Global Businesses, Finance, Internal Audit and external auditors
  • provide board level overview of progress, lead and direct multidisciplinary teams across all global businesses, global functions and regions

  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
  • Prince2
  • PMP
  • Experience with implementation of change on a global scale
  • Proven ability to work across a global perspective
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
  • Proven ability) to deliver outstanding governance across the programme: programme and project planning, communication, reporting, MI and risk and issue management
  • Delivery of large scale complex programmes at pace,developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage
  • Strong people and team management experience
  • Proven implementation, change management and benefits realisation experience
  • Demonstration of commerciality with strong financial acumen
