Senior Labor Productivity Analyst

The Senior Labor Productivity Analyst supports the organization with managing its labor resources and the sustainability of the System-wide labor and productivity program. The program's goal is to identify appropriate use of labor resources thereby reducing unnecessary labor cost and improving resource utilization in Sutter's acute hospitals. The Senior Labor Productivity Analyst will spend the bulk of his or her time at Sutter's facilities throughout Northern California (travel up to 50%) working with a broad range of personnel at all levels of the organization in providing data, analysis and consulting services on labor productivity issues. The incumbent will use various data sources to develop recommendations on department targets and monitor variance trends. He or she will be tasked with monitoring action plan progress and resolution in partnership with local Finance teams. The incumbent will also perform ad hoc analysis to evaluate root causes for variation in labor utilization. The Senior Labor Productivity Analyst will report to the System Director of Labor Productivity. The ideal candidate will have experience working with clinical leaders in a hospital setting on labor management issues, experience in labor target setting as well as action plan development, implementation and follow-up. He or she will be able to work independently on tasks and be able to recognize when to escalate issues to the appropriate levels of leadership.

Education

Bachelor's Business, Finance, or related field required
Master's Business, Finance, or related field preferred

Education background that has developed skills in financial analysis, resource allocation and utilization as it relates to organizational operations required

Experience

3-5 years Broad knowledge of hospital operations, including labor management required

Skills & Knowledge

The incumbent must possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and be able to interact effectively with all levels of management
The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
The incumbent must possess advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
