Job Description
Job High level Overview:
  • High performing candidates will need to develop a strong collaboration with industry leading hardware/software development teams to deliver leading edge memory solutions.
  • Manage and oversee development of high bandwidth, highly reliable, and high capacity memory solutions for IBM Systems.
  • Participate in driving/fostering industry standards & specifications.
  • Selected candidates will maintain product ownership over entire lifecycle (concept, high level design, implementation, test, release, field support).

Job Details:
  1. Lead development team to deliver leading edge memory technologies for IBM Systems.
  2. Partner / collaborate with memory suppliers to develop IBM system solutions around emerging and/or leading-edge memory technologies.
  3. Provide people management for 15-20 technical leaders and engineers. Responsibilities include:
i.Management of memory development engineers, hardware procedure engineers (software), characterization engineers, modeling, and memory subsystem project managers
ii.Global execution responsibilities for development and delivery of the Memory Subsystem supporting IBM Systems Group roadmap.
iii.Maintain Technology Development hardware roadmap and goals.
iv.Support schedule, project checkpoints, resource sizing and staffing to ensure project deliverables in a highly matrixed global environment.
v.Project manage with high level of collaboration across hardware, firmware, system, subsystem, and software stack.
vi.Drive execution interlock, foster optimization, and establish process improvements.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

In this role, we require:
  • 5+ years of computer hardware development experience
  • 5+ years in personnel management and/or demonstrated team leadership
  • 3+ systems test, characterization, and qualification
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve performance issues
  • Passion for continuous improvement in building knowledge base both technically and professionally
  • Minimum BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Software development project experience
  • Knowledge of industry standards (i.e.: JEDEC, Flash, DDR)
  • Knowledge of firmware, procedure, subsystem initialization & test
  • Knowledge of memory subsystems & technologies
  • Agile/ Scrum methodology experience
