Director Commercial Formulary Operations

Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)     Primary Responsibilities:   The Director, Commercial Formulary Operations, is responsible for the following: Lead the implementation and maintenance of Commercial / Medicaid / Exchange client formularies by directing a team of 35 on - shore staff (including 3 Managers and 32 individual contributors) and leveraging 21 off - shore resources Execute on strategic initiatives in Commercial formulary operations by developing and enhancing operational and technology - based solutions for complex challenges Provide quality and production oversight of operational processes to ensure client satisfaction through implementation of client intent, achievement of performance guarantees and compliance with regulatory requirements Understand the multiple applications utilized within Formulary Operations to identify opportunities to leverage technology for operational improvements Foster team development and engagement through strong department vision and roadmap Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives of OptumRx Embrace UHG Cultural Values of Integrity, Compassion, Relationships, Innovation and PerformanceRequired Qualifications: 4 year degree Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license 3+ years PBM, Managed Care or Health Plan management experience 4+ years of experience managing staff 1+ year experience implementing large scale initiatives / projects Proven working knowledge of formulary operations Strong presentation and communication skill Demonstrated ability to drive to data - driven results and cost - effective operations solutions Aptitude and experience in using technology to solve operational challenges   Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree Experience with process improvement and metric development Experience managing an operational area through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff UnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
