Accounting Officer - Retail Banking and Wealth Management

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Accounting Officer. Principal responsibilities
  • To maintain the operations of Bank Billing and all issues relating to Merchant including terminal deposit receipt and refund, commission receivables, as well as to carry out an effective credit control policy.
  • To handle enquiries from member banks representatives and merchants concerning billing matter and handle complaints and difficult merchants tactfully.
  • To contribute initiatives and suggestions from accounting perspective for project and business development. To ensure merchant billing system and accounting system maintenance by planning and conducting a detailed user acceptance test for system enhancement.
  • To compute and prepare analysis on business data monthly and ad hoc statistics, management reports and annual plan to EPS Company Board and Management team. To provide necessary reporting required by the governing body and the HSBC Group.
  • To assist line managers in maintaining and controlling the company’s books of accounts.
  • To assist line managers in managing daily cash flow and settlements including fund movements and payments.
  • To enhance and ensure the efficiency of staff and the existing operating procedures in accounting system and recommend cost initiatives to maximize operational efficiency.
  • To assist supervisor to provide guidance, counseling and performance evaluation on junior staff in team.

  • Obtained an intermediary level qualification from an internationally recognised accounting professional body
  • Relevant working experience in accounting field and supervisory experience is preferable.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong numeric and analytical mind and data mining techniques
  • Sound problem solving, negotiation, planning and organizing skills
  • Self-motivated, possesses good interpersonal skills and a good team player
  • Able to handle multi-tasks, work independently and under pressure
  • Experience in system enhancement and user acceptance
